In the essay "Television: The Plug-In Drug" by Marie Winn it talks about how television has become the replacement for family time.Winn goes on about how since the invention of the TV it has taken away from family's talking and spending time with one another. it also has made it harder for people to be able to socialize with others in real life situations because its not as easy as the TV situations. According to Winn she believes that if family turned off there TV or just got rid of it all together then that family would function a lot better by being able to communicate with one another. Also having to discuss there problems and not hiding behind a TV.
