In the video "Twitter users ask for Protection from Mexican cartel" by Douglas Stanglin, USA TODAY. Douglas talks about a social media killer, and how twitter users are asking for protection. what the writer is claiming is that the people that are using social media to report crimes on the Mexican cartel are turning up dead. also the Mexican media is not reporting the crimes and the law enforcement are unable to control violence. The twitter users are asking for protection of there freedom of speech. There are letter being left behind by the murder telling people not to use social media to report crime and explains why these people are being killed. Other twitter users issued a manifesto asking for protection. I feel that the usefulness of this video is to show that social media is so crazy that some people will kill to keep what they are doing hidden from the world. They will kill and cause fear in peoples lives to keep there crimes hidden from social media.
